(not oven) Pride

So it was Pride again yesterday, and Evil Alex and I seem to have settled on a pattern for how to celebrate the day: Watch the parade, while definitely not treating "who can get more stickers on them" as a competition, oh no:

After which we walk around to areas where we know damn well people will be drunk and dancing, so we can tut judgementally at them for being drunk and dancing and getting in our way. We really need to add some drinkers to our group next year, so we can tut without having to walk so far - penny_p had a cold and jetlag or she'd have come, and Richard was planning to come after he'd finished work; except by the time he finished work we'd had enough. In a SHOCKING DEVELOPMENT there was no fire engine in the parade this year, although there were the (no longer quite so) popular beat combo Blue on a float dressed as pilots. I think their day may be well and truly over, since Evil Alex didn't know they were supposed to be a Turn, and just said "I bet they're not real pilots." Well, no. They're the (no longer quite so) popular beat combo Blue. The parade did feature:

Gay judo persons

and gay cheerleaders,

although for my money the top totty was the gay paramedics:

And there we have it. Evil Alex ended up with more stickers than me but the gay cabin crew (I know! Imagine such a thing!) did give me two packets of Love Hearts to his one, so ner. And I got given a condom, someone having been under the crazy misapprehension that I might get a chance to use it.

I vote top totty - the gay paramedic in the last picture in the middle of the three :o)

There were good-looking guys in various parts of the parade but I think the paramedics had the most "something for everyone" factor.

Personally, I think the guy in the top photo with the "There" shirt is the cutest ... (pity he wasn't smiling for the camera).

But yeah, the gay paramedics are HOT, particularly the one on the left with the pink lanyard thing around his neck. Of course, the cheerleader on the front left his filling out those blue shorts quite nicely, now that I've had a second look.

That is my version of smiling for the camera! Well... it's me "having attempted to smile for the camera a few moments previously." I'm not very good at holding a smile if it's too long between "smile!" and "click!" it just ends up being some sort of horrifying rictus grin.

We'll have to work on that in NY.

Heh. I liked the first episode of that more than I expected to. Haven't seen the second one yet, obviously, been out theatreing instead ;)

hmmm... I'm disappointed that you don't seem to have even considered a fainting fit just as the cute paramedics passed!!

I suspect they may have seen that trick before. They might have set a lesbian on me.
