A change is as good as a rest

My sister arrived in the UK yesterday, to take a break from all the fuss surrounding the funeral and the upcoming 40-day memorial service - as well as simply for a change of scenery from the flat in Athens, which still has bad associations for her as the place where she found our dad's body. She's only here for a week - we were quite particular about that because if she'd stayed longer she might have found it really hard to go back.

Penny's still quite affected by it all, which is understandable as she can't really escape it. I hope staying at my Mum's house does her some good. At first she had an awkward moment, when she arrived at the house and her first thought was to ring Dad and let him know she'd arrived safely, so that threw her for a while. But apart from that she's settling in and looking forward to seeing some friends. I've booked Tuesday and Wednesday off next week to try and find some stuff to cheer her up. We'll probably have a wander around Greenwich on Tuesday, and on Wednesday I'm taking her to the theatre.

Anyone who can't guess what show I'm taking her to should go stand in the corner with the dunce's hat on.
