So a mix of bits and pieces to end the week. First up, hey, remember when me and Evil Alex and some other people went to see the final performance of Avenue Q at the Noël Coward Theatre last year? Only it wasn't the final performance after all 'cause it then re-opened at the Gielgud. Well, this year, me and Evil Alex and a different combination of people are going to see the final performance of Avenue Q at the Gielgud on the 13th of March, as it's having to move out to make way for Hair. Of course, it couldn't happen again, could it?... Avenue Q will re-open a few days later at Wyndham's. Which is round the back of the Noël Coward where it started out. I did say last time I saw the show that it was starting to feel a bit dated, so I hope it doesn't end up overstaying its welcome in the West End. On the other hand, I wonder how long it would take AQ to make its way around every bloody West End theatre? Go on, give it a go.

Of course that trip to the Gielgud last month was my last seeing Daniel Boys as Princeton/Rod; he's leaving at the end of this month so by the time we watch the show bid farewell to its second home there'll be another leading man in place. And I'll be watching the show for the 10th time, which even for my favourite musical may be pushing things a bit. (Happily we'll once again be taking a newbie with us, which always makes it more enjoyable as you can see the show through their eyes like we did with aka_kelly last year.) And with D-Boys gone from the Avenue hopefully he'll be in something else worth seeing soon (with a new Wicked lineup coming up in Spring he's been rumoured as Fiyero, but he denied that on his Twitter.)

Meanwhile I haven't bought the Gay Times for many a year but I may have to make an exception for the upcoming February issue, out next week. It's a "Hot TV" special so what's on the cover?

Yes, it's been photoshopped to buggery, especially poor Lenora who's basically had a different face drawn in crayon over her own, but still, another cover for Being Human! Plus Tovey! Toes! Tovey toes!

And if Russell appears to have turned ginger in the above photo, it's nothing compared to what's happened to him in this still that's been released from Sunday's upcoming episode:

My guess? Based on some other stills they've released, I'm guessing Annie makes a disastrous attempt at a makeover to cheer them up after both their romances went wrong.

Have a good weekend everyone and remember, don't have nightmares (about Tovey's catastrophic new 'do.)

Is it just me or is there a bulge in his pants?

I'm hoping it's just a crease in the trousers, otherwise he has more than one. Which, I know, sounds interesting at first, but it might get weird after a while.

That cover looks like it's just BEGGING for trio fanfiction. And that other pic of RT screams that he's up for the challenge.

I don't know what it is with that second photo, maybe because I shrunk it so it wouldn't be too big on people's flists, but it now seems to be making people think the trousers are telling a story they weren't meant to. In the full-size pic I think it's pretty clear he's just wearing bad clothes, so it must be that shrinking the photo's made it look a bit naughtier.

Either that or the people who read my blog just have filthy minds. But it couldn't be that, could it?

Nope ... same impression from the full size pic, although it is a bit more obvious what you meant when you mentioned the prospect of more than one. I think what we're seeing is a combination of a crease in the trousers AND a walking advert that he's open for business.

After all, you know I don't have a filthy mind, right?

Is it just me or do their legs not really match up on that cover, they're all different colours!
23rd-Jan-2010 11:23 pm (UTC)
I think it's just generally weirdly lit/'shopped.

I think they were all photgraphed separately and spliced together. It's an absolutely horrid cover.

I much prefer this shot:

Incidentally it was taken by Christian Coulson (that's his photography site), who used to go out with Michael Arden, who was pictured looking chummy with Russell Tovey once upon a time. Small gay world innit?

Did I know that was a Christian Coulson pic? I think I did - I like both of the "bed" shots of his they released in the summer (but the other one was harder to crop into an avatar LOL.)

Another Avenue Q "false" last night??
Shows are going to be queuing (no pun intended) up to get you to get tickets for their final nights just so they can re-open again somewhere else!!

Nice cover btw ;-) *whispers* I still think Mitchell is the cutest though.

Since D-Boys will be gone I think after the 10th visit I won't be quite as fussed with catching the final performance in every theatre. Although if it's still at Wyndhams in December (it's currently booking to September) I may have to go with Evil Alex for tradition's sake.

Were you away this week? Since you didn't say anything about last week's Being Human. Tomorrow's ep is supposedly a particularly funny one (well, with that getup how could it not be...)

I wasn't away but I only caught up with last week's episode just before this week's so I was avoiding BH threads until I'd seen it.
