Coathanger of doom!
7th-Nov-2011 12:24 pm
This week it’s a comedy episode of Merlin, you can tell because of the jaunty music and because Old!Merlin gets brought out again – they’re really getting their money’s worth from that makeup this year! Then the comedy kinda goes a bit awry when Merlin apparently kills Queasy!Morgana (well, someone needs to “return from the dead” soon) and I never really got into the episode to be honest. Apparently the magical phlebotonin of the week is a many-headed snake, although it looked a bit more like a coathanger that came to life. Lots of nice Marthur bromance again this week although they could hardly ignore it, the fact that Arthur trusts Merlin is pretty on-theme. Elsewhere Arthur’s instincts on who to trust are as reliable as ever, having finally clocked that Uncle Aggravation might be a baddie, he allows him to use the old “throw suspicion on someone else without actually giving a reason why it’s not you.” And as setup for next week, the figure of suspicion is Gaius. Haven’t we already had that story?

SOSSERY! count nil.

GAYWATCH! “Polish my armour” has to be a euphemism of some kind. And any time Merlin’s around Arthur can’t help chucking his clothes off. And he definitely looks disappointed that his new servant isn’t visibly impressed by his nipples. (Poor Leander Deeny, that bowl haircut wasn’t his cutest look.)

I would definitely have thought that the slow fall into soft leaves had killed Morgana, but as per usual, "Next Week On Merlin" spoilers it and we see her alive and scheming...

Well they've killed two major characters this year, I think that's their allowance for... ever, possibly.
